More Than Machinery: A New Perspective for a City

In the amusement industry, some projects are about upgrading capacity, while others are about making history. The successful installation of our 49-meter Ferris wheel in Kinshasa represents the latter. It is the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s first-ever large-scale giant observation wheel. This project transcends standard equipment procurement; it is about raising a new glowing centerpiece for the city and offering millions of locals their very first panoramic view of their skyline.

Civil Works & Localized Installation Services

The stability of a 49-meter high-altitude attraction relies entirely on precision ground engineering. Prior to equipment delivery, our engineering department issued detailed static and dynamic load foundation blueprints adapted for the local soil conditions in Kinshasa.

To guarantee flawless execution, LMQ provides comprehensive localized installation services. Rather than leaving the client to navigate complex blueprints alone, our technical supervisors worked directly on-site in Congo. They guided the local construction crew through the rebar cage binding and continuous concrete pouring, ensuring that the heavy-duty pre-embedded steel anchor bolts were positioned with millimeter-level precision for a perfect structural fit.

Structural Fabrication & Anti-Corrosion Treatment

Drawing on our extensive manufacturing experience since 1986, we engineered the mechanical structure to withstand the high humidity and intense UV exposure of the equatorial climate.

  • Material Selection: The main support columns, central axle, and wheel spokes were fabricated from high-strength seamless steel pipes.
  • Anti-Corrosion Process: The entire steel structure underwent Sa2.5 grade sandblasting, followed by the application of multi-layer, marine-grade anti-corrosion primers and topcoats.
  • Weld Inspection & Factory Strength: All critical load-bearing welds were subjected to ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) before leaving the factory to guarantee absolute structural integrity. As a trusted source manufacturer, LMQ backs every high-altitude attraction with an unblemished 40-year zero-safety-accident record, providing operators and investors with ultimate peace of mind.

Modular Export & Logistics

Transporting a 49-meter structure to Africa requires a highly optimized logistics strategy. The entire Ferris wheel was engineered using a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) modular design. Massive flange components and support columns were logically divided to maximize the spatial utilization of standard 40HQ shipping containers, significantly reducing ocean freight costs and ensuring safe transcontinental transit.

Commissioning & Customization Capabilities

Following mechanical assembly, the equipment underwent comprehensive static and dynamic testing. The VFD control cabinet was calibrated during unladen and full-load eccentric tests to ensure smooth, noise-free rotation.

As demonstrated during the grand opening, the dynamic, programmable RGB LED system successfully transformed the attraction into a prominent urban landmark, safely managing unprecedented passenger throughput (PPH) and serving as the core revenue driver for the commercial plaza.

Beyond Manufacturing: Elevating Joy and City Skylines

Beyond standard manufacturing, this Kinshasa project holds a profound historic significance: it stands proudly as the very first large-scale Ferris wheel in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

At LMQ Amusement Rides, our enterprise vision extends far beyond forging steel and programming control systems. We believe every wheel we raise becomes a new beacon of joy for the community. This 49-meter landmark now stands as a glowing centerpiece, offering thousands of local families their first breathtaking, 360-degree panoramic view of their own city skyline. This is not just a successful B2B delivery; it is a generator of lifelong memories and a testament to our commitment to bringing world-class amusement experiences to every corner of the globe.
