Project Brief
The Padang project was a large outdoor amusement park development in Indonesia, covering more than 100,000 square meters.
For a project of this size, the first mistake is to treat it as a shopping list. A large park does not work because it has many rides. It works because different rides carry different parts of the business: visibility, capacity, family traffic, repeat participation, weather backup, and long-stay value.
That was the starting point of this project.
Before finalizing the equipment configuration, we looked at the site as a whole: where the landmark rides should sit, how visitors would move between zones, which attractions should hold families longer, which rides needed stronger foundations, and how the full shipment could be installed in a realistic sequence after arriving in Indonesia.
Project Planning Points
| Planning Area | What We Had to Control |
|---|---|
| Attraction structure | Avoid a random ride list; build a park with clear traffic anchors and supporting zones |
| Visitor coverage | Serve teenagers, families, children, tourists, and local leisure visitors in one site |
| Tropical climate | Prepare steel, paint, electrical parts, drainage, and maintenance access for humid outdoor operation |
| Cross-border logistics | Deliver 20+ attractions with clear packing, container sequence, parts control, and documentation |
| Installation | Match each ride with foundation drawings, lifting plans, power needs, and local site conditions |
These points look simple on paper. On site, they decide whether the project moves smoothly or gets stuck in rework.
Ride Configuration and Park Layout Logic
The Padang park needed a layered ride structure.
We used large thrill rides such as the Looping Roller Coaster, Drop Tower, 360 Pendulum Ride, 32-Seat Pirate Ship Ride, Disco Ride, and Energy Storm as traffic anchors. These rides create height, movement, sound, and long-distance recognition. In a large park, this matters. Visitors need visual signals to understand where the main zones are.

Family rides were the second layer. The 36-Seat Carousel, Hot Air Balloon Ride, Self-Control Plane, and Fire Phoenix Ride helped cover parents, children, and mixed-age groups. These rides may not be the loudest attractions, but they are critical for daily operation. They keep the park active when thrill rides are not the only demand.

The third layer was stay-time equipment: Indoor Playground, Forest Adventure, Outdoor Go-Kart, and Rainbow Slide. These attractions give visitors something to do between major rides. They also help spread traffic across a 100,000+ m² site instead of pushing everyone toward the same few thrill rides.

This is how we usually handle large park planning: use landmark rides to pull traffic, family rides to stabilize traffic, and interactive attractions to extend traffic.

Tropical Climate Adaptation
Indonesia’s tropical climate is not a small detail. It changes how equipment should be manufactured, protected, installed, and maintained.
Padang has humidity, rain, heat, UV exposure, and long outdoor operating conditions. If the equipment is treated like a standard inland project, problems will show up later: paint aging, corrosion, electrical instability, bearing wear, drainage issues, and higher maintenance pressure.
So we handled climate adaptation from the manufacturing stage.
For this project, the preparation focused on:
- Anti-corrosion treatment for outdoor steel structures
- Weather-resistant paint and coating systems
- Electrical cabinet and control component protection
- Moisture-sensitive part protection
- Fastener and bearing durability
- Drainage consideration around foundations and activity zones
- Spare parts planning for long-term overseas operation
This is where 40 years of manufacturing experience matters in a practical way. It is not a slogan. It affects material selection, welding control, coating process, electrical protection, and inspection standards before shipment.
LIMEIQI equipment has been exported to 120+ countries and regions, including many hot, humid, coastal, and rainy markets. That experience helps us judge these problems before they become site problems.
Cross-Border Logistics for 20+ Attractions
The logistics work on this project was not simply “ship the equipment to Indonesia.”
There were more than 20 attractions, and each ride had different packing, loading, unloading, installation, and spare parts requirements. A roller coaster does not ship like a carousel. A drop tower does not unload like an indoor playground. A go-kart track and rainbow slide have different site preparation needs from a giant pendulum.
For a project like this, logistics must follow installation logic.
We arranged the shipment around:
- Ride-by-ride packing
- Numbered structural parts
- Separated fasteners and spare parts
- Container loading by equipment category
- Packing sequence aligned with site installation
- Export documentation and customs preparation
- Pre-arrival communication with the local team
The purpose was to reduce chaos after arrival.
On large overseas projects, time is often lost not during manufacturing, but after containers reach the site: parts are hard to identify, installation order is unclear, local teams wait for missing components, or large rides block the work of smaller zones.
Good packing and shipment planning prevent these problems before they reach the site.
Foundation and Installation Coordination
Installation was one of the most important parts of the Padang project.
Different rides create different foundation loads and site requirements. A Drop Tower needs vertical load and stability control. A Giant Pendulum creates dynamic forces. A Roller Coaster requires accurate support positioning and track alignment. A Carousel is simpler, but still needs a stable, level base. Indoor Playground depends on building dimensions and safe access. Go-Kart and Rainbow Slide depend more on ground layout, drainage, and visitor circulation.
This is why we do not separate manufacturing from installation planning.
LIMEIQI provided foundation drawings, layout guidance, installation sequence advice, and technical communication throughout the project. Our designers and engineers stayed involved during delivery, especially when local site conditions needed adjustment.
In overseas projects, the real site rarely behaves exactly like the drawing. Weather changes the schedule. Local civil work may progress at a different pace. Crane access may be limited. Power preparation may need adjustment. The manufacturer has to respond quickly, or the installation team loses time.
That is the value of full-process project support.
Before looking at the operating impact, the aerial view gives a clearer sense of the completed park scale, ride distribution, visitor areas, and surrounding environment.
Project Impact After Completion
After completion, the Padang park had a much stronger attraction structure.
It was no longer dependent on one or two major rides. The park had high-visibility thrill equipment, steady family attractions, indoor children’s entertainment, and outdoor long-stay activities. That gave the operator more ways to serve different visitor groups throughout the day.
Estimated operating impact included:
| Area | Impact |
|---|---|
| Visitor coverage | Served families, children, teenagers, tourists, and local visitors |
| Park visibility | High-altitude and track rides improved long-distance recognition |
| Stay time | Indoor playground, go-kart, forest adventure, and rainbow slide added longer activity options |
| Traffic distribution | Multi-zone layout reduced pressure around single major rides |
| Weather resilience | Indoor and outdoor mix supported more stable operation in tropical weather |
| Revenue structure | Multiple attraction types created more ticketing, package, and secondary spending opportunities |
For a large park, this is the real result of planning. The equipment list becomes an operating structure.
Why This Project Matters
The Padang project is a strong reference for Indonesia and other Southeast Asian amusement park developments.
Many projects in this region face similar conditions: large outdoor land, tropical climate, family tourism, local holiday traffic, mixed-age visitors, and the need for long daily operation.
A project like this cannot be solved by price alone. It requires manufacturing quality, category planning, climate adaptation, logistics control, foundation guidance, installation experience, and long-term after-sales support.
LIMEIQI’s 40 years of amusement ride manufacturing experience, 120+ country and region export record, and long-term zero safety accident record are reflected in these details. Not in one statement, but in every stage of delivery.
Planning a Similar Project in Indonesia or Southeast Asia
If you are planning a large amusement park, tourism attraction, resort entertainment area, or family amusement project in Indonesia or Southeast Asia, the first step should be full-site planning.
Before selecting equipment, it is better to clarify:
- Site area and zoning
- Target visitor groups
- Landmark ride requirements
- Family ride coverage
- Indoor and outdoor attraction balance
- Climate and drainage conditions
- Foundation and soil conditions
- Logistics and installation sequence
- Power supply
- Maintenance capacity
- Budget range
- Future expansion plan
LIMEIQI can help review site conditions, ride mix, climate requirements, logistics planning, foundation needs, and installation preparation before recommending a practical equipment configuration.
For large amusement parks, the right solution is not the longest ride list. It is the plan that can be manufactured, delivered, installed, operated, and maintained with control.
