In 2015, our team at Zhengzhou Limeiqi Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd. completed a comprehensive amusement park project in Jakarta, Indonesia, supplying and coordinating multiple core attractions for a growing family entertainment destination.

As the project manager responsible for overseas project coordination at the time, I was directly involved in the planning discussions, equipment integration, logistics scheduling, installation supervision, and operational commissioning of the project. Looking back, this project was a strong example of how successful amusement park development depends not only on ride selection, but on long-term operational planning, environmental adaptation, and reliable international project execution.

However, the real challenge was never simply delivering equipment. The key objective was building a ride combination capable of adapting to Jakarta’s climate conditions, visitor structure, operational rhythm, and long-term maintenance realities.

Understanding the Operational Needs of the Jakarta Market

At the early planning stage, the client’s primary concern was sustainability rather than short-term attraction value. Jakarta’s high visitor density, tropical climate, and family-oriented entertainment habits required a park layout that could maintain stable traffic flow while minimizing operational pressure during peak periods.

Instead of focusing purely on thrill intensity, we approached the project from three operational perspectives:

  • Visual attraction and park identity

  • Equipment durability under tropical conditions

This planning logic heavily influenced the final ride lineup and site arrangement.

For example, the 42-meter Ferris Wheel was positioned to maximize long-distance visibility from nearby roads and commercial areas, helping the park establish immediate visual recognition within the surrounding urban environment.

Meanwhile, family-oriented attractions such as the Double Decker Carousel were strategically placed near central pedestrian areas to encourage longer dwell times and repeat circulation inside the park.

This type of planning may appear straightforward on paper, but in reality it requires extensive experience with visitor movement patterns and regional amusement market behavior.

After more than 40 years in amusement equipment manufacturing and global export operations, our team has learned that ride placement often influences operational performance as much as the ride itself.

Engineering for Tropical Climate Conditions

In the amusement industry, visual appeal may attract visitors initially, but long-term reliability determines whether a park can operate sustainably.

Over the past four decades, our factory has maintained a zero safety accident record in its production process, possessing a highly sophisticated product quality control system, with projects spanning over 120 markets worldwide.

Balancing Attraction Value with Operational Efficiency

Another important consideration in Jakarta was balancing visual attraction with realistic operational efficiency.

Many new parks focus too heavily on large thrill rides while underestimating the importance of family-oriented attractions capable of sustaining all-day visitor circulation.

For this project, the combination of:

helped create a more balanced operational ecosystem.

This balance contributed to stronger visitor distribution throughout the park instead of concentrating traffic into only one or two major attractions.

From an operational perspective, that type of balance is often more valuable than simply adding larger rides.
